Shafiat Sobhan visits Bashundhara’s corona hospital site
Bashundhara Group Vice Chairman Shafiat Sobhan Sanvir on Wednesday (April 22) visited the International Convention Metropolis Bashundhara (ICCB) to screen the ongoing construction work of the makeshift medical center for coronavirus patients.
Shafiat Sobhan talked to the engineers of the Health Engineering Department (HED) of the government and inquired about the improvement of the construction work.
The Bashundhara Group Vice Chairman also assured of giving all sorts of support had a need to complete the construction work within the stipulated time.
In response, the engineers ensured him of the speedy progress of the task. Almost all of the accessories including the patient’s bed have previously reached. In addition they expressed their hope to complete the construction do the job within the offered timeframe of 15 days.
HED executive engineer Md Masudul Alam, in a briefing to journalists, said, “We are producing six clusters serially to create patient’s bed.”
ICCB Chief Executive MM Jasim Uddin said the work for establishing beds and flooring mat has nearly completed. Establishing of beds at Hall 2 has recently finished. A healthcare facility may go into operation within couple of days, he added.
Earlier, country’s largest business conglomerate Bashundhara Group’s proposal to set up the country’s major makeshift medical center for corona clients was accepted by Primary Minister Sheikh Hasina.
The premier gave the go-ahead after Bashundhara Group Chairman Ahmed Akbar Sobhan sent a written proposal to the Primary Minister’s Workplace (PMO), expressing the desire to create the hospital amid the spread of the deadly coronavirus.
Controlling Director of Bashundhara Group Sayem Sobhan Anvir formally paid the proposal to Primary Minister’s Principal Secretary Dr Ahmed Kaikaus in the PMO to achieve the approval right from the premier.
Bashundhara Group proposed a trade center with 1,50,000 square feet and several convention centres with 90,000 square feet could be turned into makeshift hospitals due to the united states has been fighting to support the spread of coronavirus.
Later, two clubs of the Directorate Standard of Health Offerings (DGHS) and Bangladesh Army visited the ICCB, the proposed internet site for the hospital.
Now a healthcare facility at the ICCB has been equipped with all facilities, including ventilation and ICU to take care of the coronavirus patient.
Country’s largest organization conglomerate Bashundhara Group isn't only constructing the country’s major hospital for treatment of Covid-19 but also enriching it (the hospital) with all facilities necessary for critical patients.
The convention centre will be used as a hospital for the moment and it will go back to its previous condition facilitating trade fairs and other public and private events following the corona crisis has ended.
