The installation work for chambers of doctors and nurses is nearly complete as the construction of toilets can be at the ultimate stage.

Air conditioners are also create while chairs and beds for patients have previously reached the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB).

Above all, the total work to carefully turn the city's ICCB in to the makeshift hospital for coronavirus patients is progressing fast.

So, the hospital will be ready for operation by April 23, authorities concerned of Health Engineering Department (HED) hoped.

With the target to go into procedure of the hospital from April 28, the authorities of HED and ICCB started installation work on April 12.

While talking to journalists at a healthcare facility premises on Saturday (April 18), the HED divisional (Dhaka) executive engineer Masudul Alam expressed satisfaction over the progress of the installation work.

The officials of HED and ICCB were present in those days.

Masudul Alam said, “About 75 percent work of the isolation center has been completed. Beds have previously arrived. Installing AC and toilet work is underway. The construction of the cabins of doctors and nurses reaches the final stage. Hopefully, we are able to complete the construction of a healthcare facility by April 23.”

With the slogan, “For the welfare of the country and the people,” Bashundhara Group always comes forward in any national crisis.

This time around, when Bashundhara Group Chairman Ahmed Akbar Sobhan sent a written proposal to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), expressing the desire to create the makeshift hospital amid the spread of the deadly coronavirus, the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina accepted.

The greatest business conglomerate of the united states, however, proposed a trade centre with 1,50,000 square feet and four convention centers with 90,000 square feet could be converted into makeshift hospitals as the country has been fighting to support the spread of coronavirus.

Later, two teams of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) and Bangladesh Army visited the ICCB, the proposed site for Bashundhara Group’s 5,000-bed hospital.

The ICCB has been directed at use as hospital given that the government needs or before Covid-19 crisis has ended.

The ICCB has been given for using as hospital provided that the federal government needs and the crisis isn't over.

Initially, medical Engineering Department (HED) is attempting to use a 2,084-bed makeshift hospital in the city’s ICCB. However, it can even be changed into a 5,000-bed hospital, if needed. Once that program starts, it'll be the largest integrated health care center for Covid-19 patients in Bangladesh.
