Section 144 imposed found in Noakhali's Basurhat following clashes
The neighborhood administration has imposed Section 144 in Noakhali's Basurhat municipality following clashes between supporters of mayor Abdul Quader Mirza and former Upazila chairman Mizanur Rahman Badal that left one people dead.

Upazila Nirbahi Officer Ziaul Haque Mir confirmed the matter at 12:30am on Wednesday.

He said the restriction will stay in effect from 6am Wednesday to 12am on Thursday, banning a variety of meetings, processions and consumer gatherings.

A guy was killed and at least 50 people were injured during a clash between two factions of the ruling Awami League at Basurhat in Noakhali’s Companiganj upazila on Tuesday.

The deceased was discovered as Alauddin, 32, son of Mominul Haque, of Char Kali village in the upazila. Local resources claimed that the deceased was a follower of Mizanur Rahman.

Earlier, section 144 was also issued found in Basurhat municipal area in February 22.
