Rab cordons off Samrat’s party office
Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) condoned off the party office of Dhaka Metropolitan South Jubo League President Ismail Hossain Chowdhury Samrat. They are preparing to enter the building.
Lt Col Sarwar Bin Kashem, director (legal and media wing) of RAB, said that they were preparing to enter the office of the Dhaka Metropolitan South Jubo League at the Bhuiya Mansion at Kakrail intersection on Sunday (October 6). The Samrat regularly sat in the office with the leaders.
Earlier in the morning, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested Jubo League’s Dhaka South unit President Ismail Hossain Chowdhury Samrat and vice president Arman in Cumilla on early Sunday.
As news of his arrest spread, the party office of him fell vacant.
Samrat went underground once information linking leaders of the Awami League's youth front with the illegal gambling business surfaced.
Earlier on September 24, the government imposed a travel ban on Samrat.
