2 drug traders killed in ‘gunfights’ with Rab
Two suspected drug traders were killed in separate reported gunfights with members of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) in Dhaka and Munshiganj early on Tuesday (May 7).

In Dhaka, tipped off, a team of Rapid Action Battalion-1 conducted a drive at Dumni under Khilkhet Police Station around 1:00 am, Md Kamruzzaman, Assistant Director Rab-1, told Banglanews.

Sensing presence of law enforcers, they opened fire forcing Rab members to retaliate. Later, they rescued one of the drug traders with bullet wounds from the spot.

The injured was taken to Kurmitola hospital where doctors pronounced him dead, the Rab official said.

Identity of the deceased-- aged around 37 years --could not be known immediately 

Two Rab members were also injured in the incident, Kamruzzaman added.

2,000 pieces of yaba tablets and a foreign-made pistol were recovered from the spot. 
  
In Munshiganj, a suspected drug trader was killed in a reported gunfight with Rab in Sadar upazila early Tuesday.

The deceased was identified as Sujon, one of the top drug traders in list of home ministry. 

Law enforcers recovered a foreign made pistol, huge amount of yaba pills from the spot. A Rab member was also injured in the incident, said a press release of Rab.
