Suspected robber killed in ‘shootout’
A suspected robber was killed in a reported gunfight with Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) at Puichuri in Banshkhali upazila of Chattogram on Sunday.
Deceased Bahadur Dacoit, 43, was a resident of the upazila. He was wanted in several cases, said Assistant Superintendent of Police Mashkur Rahman RAB-7
On information that robbers were gathering in Puichuri area, a team of the elite force raided there around 4:15am.
The robbers fired at RAB, triggering a gunfight. Bahadur was killed in the skirmish but others managed to flee.
Two firearms and 23 bullets were also recovered from the spot.
