Prime Bank MD resigns days before contract’s expiry
The managing director of Primary Bank has resigned only days and nights before his three-year contract is scheduled to expire, citing that it was for "personal reasons".
"I have taken the decision so that you can embrace a fresh opportunity and challenge found in the interest of my career found in the days in advance," said Rahel Ahmed, among the youngest ceos in the banking sector.
Promoted to the most notable executive post of the second technology bank in December 2017, his deal with the lender is scheduled to end on December 13.
Ahmed previous served the bank as a deputy handling director and chief organization officer.
Contacted by The Daily Star, Ahmed stated this individual forwarded his resignation letter to the bank's plank on December 7.
The board had offered him another term in September, he claimed. "But, I am unwilling to keep my work at the lender further," he said.
However, resources said the board was not interested in renewing his contract.
