PM to open Feni rail overpass Tuesday
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate all the lanes of Fatehpur railway overpass in Feni district on Dhaka-Chattogram highway on Tuesday.
The premier will open the railway overpass through a video conference at 4:30pm from her Ganobhaban residence in Dhaka, said Feni Deputy Commissioner Md Wahiduzzaman.
Earlier on May 15 and 20, two Dhaka-bound lanes of the overpass were opened aiming to reduce traffic jam on the highway.
The construction work on the 86.79-metre long railway overpass, involving Tk 105.7 crore, started in 2012.
Shipu BPL Contractor Company was charged to supervise the project. But the company could not complete the project within set period.
Later, Bangladesh Army got the task to finish it. The Army started their work in April last year.
