PM inaugurates Biman’s third Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner Gaangchil today
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has inaugurated the modern technology equipped new and third Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner Gaangchil of Biman Bangladesh Airlines at the VVIP Termninal of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the capital today around 11:00 am.

After the inauguration ceremony, the aircraft will begin its commercial operations by flying the BG-027 flight to Abu Dhabi today at 5:30 pm.

Earlier on July 25, the third Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner was added to the Biman’s fleet raising the number of total aircraft to 15.

Dreamliner has 16 hours of nonstop flying capacity. It also requires 20 per cent less fuel compared to other aircraft.

Gaangchil has a seat capacity of 271, among which there are 24 seats in Business Class and 247 in Economy Class. The Business Class seats come with 180 degree reclined facility and total flat beds.

In front of every seat, there is a Panasonic LED S monitor. Also, passengers can enjoy more than 100 movies in the Dreamliner In-flight Entertainment system (IFE). 

Moreover, passengers can also avail WiFi services even while flying 43 thousand foot above the sea surface. Everyone can enjoy 10 MB of complimentary internet for 15 minutes.

In 2008, Biman signed a deal to purchase 10 planes from US aircraft manufacturer Boeing. Already, Biman has received four new Boeing 777-300ERs, two 737-800s, and three 787-8 Dreamliners.

The fourth and last Boeing 787 Dreamliner will be delivered next month.
