93,384 pilgrims reached Saudi Arabia to perform hajj
A total of 260 flights carrying 93,384 hajj pilgrims reached Saudi Arabia till mid-night of July 27 to perform the holy Hajj this year.
All the hajj passengers landed safely in Saudi Arabia boarding on 136 and 124 flights of Biman Bangladesh Airlines and Saudi Airlines respectively, said an official Hajj office bulletin.
A total of 5,019 pilgrims were carried by Biman Airlines under the government management while the other 88,365 hajjis went there under private management.
According to Hajj Camp and Biman Bangladesh Airlines sources, this year a total of 126,923 pilgrims will perform Hajj both under the government and private management.
A total of 18 Bangladeshi hajj pilgrims died of various reasons in Saudi Arabia as of Friday.
Of them, 15 hajj pilgrims died in Makkah, two in Medina and one in Jeddah.
