Plan to impose lockdown on several frontier districts
The federal government is contemplating impose of lockdown on several frontier districts in the wake of increase in transmission of coronavirus infection and loss of life from the deadly virus after Eid-ul-Fitr.

Experts express that they expressed the apprehension of upsurge in coronavirus transmission because of visiting markets for browsing and leaving the administrative centre for village house before Eid-ul-Fitr ignoring the government's restrictions. The apprehension is currently gradually becoming true. Both the transmission and death have already increased.

They, however, said the transmitting is normally increasing in the frontier districts.

Experts dread that the coronavirus transmitting may aggravate further as a result of arrival of Bangladeshi nationals from India and recognition of the occurrence of virus within their bodies.

According to the experts, the government has a intend to impose lockdown on several risky frontier districts if the pandemic circumstances aggravates.

Director Standard of the Directorate of Overall health (DGDH) Professor Dr Abul Bashar Khurshid Alam told journalists on Fri that lockdown was imposed on frontier district of Chapainawabganj to avoid transmission. "If the situation aggravates further, lockdown may be imposed on several frontier districts. These including frontier districts of Satkhira, Rajshahi and Khulna," he said.

On Thursday (May 27), Brahmanbaria's civil sutrgeon's office said 13 persons who returned from India had tested Covid positive.
