Shops, malls to reopen across Bangladesh from April 25
The government has announced to reopen all shops and malls across Bangladesh from April 25 amid the ongoing nationwide strict lockdown. A gazette notification in this regard was issued by the Cabinet Division on April 23.
The shops and malls will remain open from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm each day. Legal action will be taken if health guidelines are violated.
The decision has been taken taking into consideration the livelihood of people involved in these lenders, added the notice.
Through the strict lockdown beginning from April 14, the federal government shut down all shops and markets across the country. However, online sales were allowed maintaining all health guidelines. Besides, kitchen markets and grocery shops remained open for several hours amid the lockdown.
Bangladesh is again witnessing a resurgence of the coronavirus spread going back few weeks, taking the tally of the full total number of infected to 736,074 and fatalities to 10,781 till April 22.
