Modi to become listed on Bangabandhu’s birth centenary celebrations online
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will join the birth centenary celebrations of Dad of the country Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman over March 17 up coming through videoconferencing.
 
He'll also send a video message on the event, said Indian Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla on Wednesday.
 
India may also provide 150 ambulances to Bangladesh on the celebration, he said.
 
Following the detection of coronavirus cases for the very first time in Bangladesh, the year-long programmes taken up to celebrate the birth centenary of Father of the country Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman through the ‘Mujib Borsho’ have already been rescheduled considering public health.
 
The grand inaugural ceremony of the birth centenary celebrations scheduled for March 17 next at the National Parade Ground has been placed on hold because of the prevailing situation around the world due to the coronavirus outbreak and it will be held later.
 
Other celebration programmes may also be observed avoiding massive open public gatherings.
 
The decision was taken at a meeting of the daddy of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Birth Centenary Celebration National Implementation Committee at Ganobhaban on Sunday in the existence of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her sister Sheikh Rehana.
 
The Indian Ministry of Exterior Affairs on Monday confirmed the deferral of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Bangladesh scheduled for March 17 following a rescheduling of the programmes.
 
The Indian government has received a formal notification from the federal government of Bangladesh in this regard.
 
"The federal government of Bangladesh features advised us that unique dates for these commemorative events will be conveyed after," MEA Official Spokesperson Raveesh Kumar told mass media.
 
Expressing knowledge of the situations that necessitates this deferment, he explained India is preparing to use Bangladesh, as companions, to combat the distributed of this disease within their shared neighbourhood.
 
The impact of the deferment applies also to the large gathering planned for March 17, of which the Prime Minister of India was invited.

Indian Prime Minister Modi was scheduled to visit Bangladesh on March 17 with a bilateral component.
