President to join Modi’s oath-taking ceremony
President M Abdul Hamid will join the swearing-in ceremony of Narendra Modi as the Prime Minister of India.

He will leave Dhaka for New Delhi on Wednesday (May 29) on a three-day visit to India.

The oath-taking ceremony will be held on Thursday (May 30).

As Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina can not attend Narendra Modi's swearing-in ceremony on May 30 as Indian Prime Minister because she will be in Japan during this time, President M Abdul Hamid will join the swearing-in ceremony, said foreign ministry sources.

Besides, Jatiya Sangsad speaker Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury has also a pre-scheduled program.

Apart from the joining of the Modi’s oath taking ceremony, President will pay a courtesy call on his Indian counterpart Ram Nath Kovind.

He will return home on May 31.

Earlier on May 26, Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen said Minister of Liberation War Affairs AKM Mozammel Haque will join the oath-taking ceremony of Narendra Modi as Prime Minister of India for the second term.
