Shringla due on March 1 ahead of Modi’s visit
Indian Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla will get to Dhaka ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s upcoming visit to Bangladesh.
The foreign secretary will get to Dhaka on a two-day visit on March 1 to finalise the schedule for the Indian premier’s visit to Bangladesh, foreign ministry sources said.
Narendra Modi is likely to visit Dhaka on March 17 to wait Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s birth centenary celebration, sources added.
The Indian Foreign secretary will ask Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on March 2.
Harsh Vardhan Shringla, who earlier served as the Indian High Commissioner to Dhaka, may also meet Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen and Foreign Secretary Masud Bin Momen on a single day.
It'll be Shringla’s first visit to Bangladesh after he assumed any office of Indian Foreign Secretary.
