Journalist Muhammad Jahangir passes away
Journalist Muhammad Jahangir, also the executive director of Centre for Development Communication, passed away at a city hospital early Wednesday. 

The noted journalist breathed his last around 12:40am, his son Apurba Jahangir confirmed.

Jahangir had been suffering from cancer. He was admitted to Asgar Ali Hospital on Monday and kept on life support.

Jahangir's body will be taken to his Shantinagar residence this morning, Apurba Jahangir said.   

He was the Editor of Monthly BINODAN, a magazine for the adolescent, being published since February 1998.

He also taught journalism at the University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB). He worked as a part time teacher at University of Development Alternative (UODA).

He Joined The Daily Dainik Bangla as university correspondent in 1970 and was promoted to staff reporter two years later. He later joined the Press Institute of Bangladesh (PIB).

Jahangir was the former Dhaka Correspondent of Daily 'Aazkal' of Kolkata.

He was also involved with two TV channels.

Jahangir was also a member Bangla Academy, Asiatic Society of Bangladesh, National Press Club, and Rotary Club, among others.
