IU forms panel to probe BCL factional clash
The authorities of Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia on Tuesday formed a three-member probe body to look into the clash between two groups of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) on the campus.
The committee was continued with IU student affairs advisor Prof Paresh Chandra Barman as its head. The others members are Sheikh Russel Hall provost Prof Miah M Rashiduzzaman and assistant proctor M Jahangir Sadat, UNB reports.
IU acting registrar SM Abdul Latif told UNB that university vice-chancellor Prof M Harun-Ur-Rashid Askari constituted the probe body.
The probe was asked to submit its report with seven working days, he said.
The VC told UNB that they will take legal action against the accused after receiving the probe report.
At least 10 people were injured as two factions of BCL clashed on the IU campus on Monday.
