4 KUET students beaten by BCL, handed over to police
Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) on Tuesday beat four students of Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET), and handed them over to police naming them as Shibir activists.

BCL men beat the students at Bangabandhu Hall severely before handing them over to the law enforcers in wounded state. Police later provided them with first aid to heal the wounds, reports UNB.

The suspected Shibir men are Muazzim, Parvej, Mahadi Hasan and Najmus Sakib of the university.

Police sources said, after primary interrogation from the arrestees, the law enforcers conducted a drive at the Hall and recovered 2 round of bullets, sharp weapons and 30/40 Islamic books.

The detainees claimed BCL men forcibly took them to the Hall and beat them severely, driving them senseless.

Later, the assailants took snaps compelling them to hold the reported books and armors to escape their guilt, the suspected Shibir men alleged.

Officer-in Charge of Khan Jahan Ali Police Station Liakat Ali said, being tipped-off by the university authority, police held 4 alleged Shibir men and provided them with first aid for their injuries. "Interrogation is on about their involvement with Shibir," he added.
