Human chain formed for Khaleda’s release
As part of countrywide scheduled programmes, BNP formed a human chain in front of Jatiya Press Club in Dhaka on Monday demanding its chief Khaleda Zia's release from jail.
Huge number of leaders and activists of the party attended the the human chain formed around 10:15 am 45 minutes before the scheduled time.
They chanted different slogans demanding the release of Khaleda Zia immediately.
A good number of law enforcers were deployed around the Jatiya Press Club to fend off any trouble, reports UNB.
BNP's districts, city units are also scheduled to observe the programmes at their convenient time and places.
BNP on Sunday got permission to stage a human chain programme in the city demanding its chairperson Khaleda Zia's release from jail.
They will also observe a two-hour token hunger strike on Wednesday in all districts and metropolitan cities to press the same demand.
BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia has been in jail since a special court convicted her in Zia Orphanage Trust graft case.
