Haji Salim's protocol officer Dipu arrested from Tangail
Detectives have arrested AB Siddiq Dipu, protocol officer of Haji Salim's Madina group, from Tangail in a case filed over assault on a navy officer.

Dipu, 45, #2 2 FIR-listed accused, nabbed from Tangail around 3:30 am, Detective Branch of police (Ramna Division) HM Azizul Haque confirmed. 

He said Dipu take down more the navy official than others. He'll be sent to court later on your day seeking remand.

Victim navy officer Lieutenant Wasif Ahmed Khan filed the case with Dhanmondi Police Station early hours of Monday accusing four people, including Haji Salim's son Mohammad Erfan Salim.

Police arrested the MP's car driver Mizanur Rahman following the case filed.

Immediately after the incident on Sunday night, Wasif filed an over-all diary with the authorities station.

In the GD, Wasif alleged that he and his wife were riding on the motorbike. Suddenly, a black Land Rover struck his motorbike near Kalabagan's signal. He, subsequently, managed to regain control of his vehicle after the crash.

The navy officer stood before the car, carrying Erfan and three others, parking his bike on the road.

The four then used abusive words and started beating Wasif. In addition, they assaulted his wife and threatened to kill Wasif and his wife, Wasif alleged.

Later, the four left the scene leaving the car behind as people began to gather around.

Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), led by executive magistrate Sarwar Alam, raided Erfan's house on Monday afternoon and seized 37 walkie talkies, five VPS sets, a pistol, a one-barrel gun, a briefcase, one handcuff, a drone, and seven bottles of foreign liquor and bear.

Later during the night, a mobile court sentenced Erfan Salim, a ward councilor, and his bodyguard Mohammad Zahid to 1-year imprisonment for possessing against the law arms and another six months for possessing liquor.
