'Drug trader' killed in Dhaka 'gunfight'
A suspected drug dealer was killed in a gunfight with Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) members in Dhaka's Khilkhet area early Monday.
The deceased was identified as Mizanur Rahman Mintu alias Megha Mintu, 34.
RAB-1 squad commander ASP Md Kamruzzaman said on secret information that a gang of drug traders was staying in the area, a team of the RAB conducted a drive there at early hours.
Sensing presence of the team, the gang members opened fire on the elite force, forcing them to fire back that triggered a gunfight.
At on stage of shootout, the RAB found the body of Mintu on the scene.
Two shotguns, 10 cartridges and huge number of Yaba pills were recovered from the spot.
