2 Rohingyas among 3 killed in gunfight
Three criminals, including two Rohingyas, were killed in a gunfight with police in Teknaf upazila of Cox's Bazar early Thursday. 

The deceased were identified as Md Jamil, 20, son of Fazal Ahammad, Md Asmat Ullah, 21, son of Nabi Hossain, residents of Ukhiya's Balukhali no:17 refugee camp, and Md Rafiq, 24, son of late Md Ali, resident of Baharchhora Natunpara area.  

All the victims were the accused in different cases, including of murder, drugs, police claimed.

Teknaf Police Station OC Pradip Kumar Das said the three were arrested on Wednesday night.

According to their confessional statement, a team of the law enforcers alongwith the three criminals conducted a drive in Baharchhara hilly area at early hours to recover firearms.

Sensing the presence of the team, the cohorts of the detained criminals opened fire on the police, forcing them to fire back for self-defence.

The three criminals sustained bullet injuries but others managed to flee the scene.

They were taken to Teknaf Upazila Health Complex where the on-duty doctors declared the trio dead.

Three light guns, six bullets and eight bullet shells were recovered from the spot.
