Dhaka protests Myanmar’s attempt to claim St. Martin's
The government has summoned the Myanmar ambassador in Dhaka U Lwin Oo over Myanmar’s attempt to claim a portion of St Martin’s island as their territory.
The Foreign Ministry on Saturday (Oct 6) also lodged stern protest to the Myanmar envoy over the false claim.
According to foreign ministry sources, Myanmar is deliberately trying to show that a portion of St Martin’s island as its territory.
Maritime affairs unit chief at foreign affairs ministry rear admiral M Khurshed Alam handed over the diplomatic protest note to the Myanmar ambassador.
