Indian commerce minister Suresh Prabhu in Dhaka
Indian Minister of Commerce and Industry and Civil Aviation Suresh Prabhu arrived in Dhaka on Monday (September 24) on a five-day official visit. 

The flight carrying the minister landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport around 6:20pm. Bangladesh Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed welcomed his Indian counterpart at the airport. 

According Foreign Ministry Sources, the Indian minister is visiting Bangladesh at the invitation of Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed with an aim to boost trade and hold talks on other bilateral issues between the two countries.
 
After arriving in Dhaka on Monday afternoon, the commerce minister will sit with Prime Minister’s political adviser HT Imam. On the next day, Prabhu will visit Tofail Ahmed’s constituency Bhola-1 as he desires to visit rural areas. 

On Sep 26, Prabhu and Tofail will hold final bilateral talks and later in the same day Prabhu will meet with Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister AKM Shahjahan Kamal.

On Sep 27, the Indian minister is scheduled to make a courtesy call on President Hamid and visit Bangabandhu Museum. 

Suresh Prabhu is expected to leave Dhaka on Sept 28.  

Prabhu was supposed to visit Bangladesh in June but he could not come to Dhaka at the time due to some unavoidable circumstances.
