Country's major COVID-19 hospital launched in Dhaka
Country's most significant COVID-19 dedicated hospital, located at Dhaka North City Corporation's (DNCC) kitchen market at Mohakhali, started operations amid the growing demands of ICU supports for the virus-infected patients.
Health Minister Zahid Maleque inaugurated a healthcare facility at 12:30pm on Sunday as chief guest.
Initially there will be 50 ICU beds, 50 emergency beds, and 150 general beds from today, while 130 doctors, 200 nurses, 300 other staffers, and 100 army personnel have been assigned for the hospital.
The hospital could have 212 ICUs and 250 high dependency units with 540 isolated high care rooms for Covid-19 patients.
Hospital sources said a lot more than 500 Covid-19 patients will receive high-flow oxygen support at the same time at the hospital.
A healthcare facility will be run by the MILITARY Division and overall support will be supplied by the Ministry of Health.
