Dengue: Bangladesh sees significant improvement
Bangladesh is seeing a good gradual fall in dengue cases with the health authorities confirming zero new cases in a day until Sunday morning.
Currently only 1 dengue patient is receiving treatment at a hospital, the Directorate General of Health Services said.
The health authorities reported 38 dengue cases since January, and 37 patients have recovered up to now.
This season no dengue-related death has been reported.
Since January this past year, health authorities reported 1,231 dengue cases with 1,156 recoveries until December 4.
Information of seven dengue-related deaths were delivered to the Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Exploration (IEDCR) although it reviewed four conditions and confirmed 3 dengue deaths.
According to official numbers, 101,354 dengue instances and 179 deaths were recorded in Bangladesh 2019 whenever a substantial outbreak of dengue pushed the health care program to its limits.
