Barrister Rafique-ul Haque placed on life support
Former lawyer general and senior legal professional Barrister Rafique-ul Haque has been continued life support in the city's Ad-din Hospital.
The hospital’s Director-General Dr. Nahid Yasmin confirmed the matter to the media.
Quoting the hospital's Public Relations Officer Tabibur Rahman, BSS reports that Rafique, also the chairman of the Ad-din Foundation, was continued life support in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) since Tuesday night after his condition deteriorated.
The hospital’s Director-General Dr. Nahid Yasmin said that Rafique was admitted there on October 15.
He has been experiencing various old-aged complications including anemia, she added.
The veteran legal professional had served as the legal professional general from April 7, 1990, to December 17 of the same year.
Through the caretaker government’s regime in 2007-08, he previously lent legal support to top ranking political leaders.
