Businessman 'Golden Monir' held with arms, drugs during raid
Rapid Actions Battalion (RAB) members have detained precious metal businessman Monirul Islam alias 'Golden Monir' alongwith unlawful arms and drugs throughout a raid at his residence on capital's Merul Badda.
A group of the elite force, led by its Executive Magistrate Polash Kumar Basu, raided Monir's house on Friday night and conducted the get till Saturday morning hours, RAB headquarters confirmed.
Lt Col Ashiq Billah, the RAB legal and media wing, said huge amount of gold ornaments and foreign currency were as well seized from a flooring of the six-storey construction.
The elite force conducted the raid on charge of amassing wealth illegally.
