'Blue Panel' elected uncontested in DUTA polls
Pro-Awami League 'Blue Panel' was elected uncontested in the Dhaka University Teachers Association (DUTA) election on Sunday as the BNP-Jamat-backed 'White Panel' refrained from getting involved in the election, citing coronavirus pandemic. 

Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) of the DUTA election Professor Dr Zakir Hossain Bhuiyan declared the 'Blue Panel' individuals winners  on Sunday night.

Professor Dr Md Rahmat Ullah was elected as president, while Professor Dr Nizamul Huq Bhuiyan as general secretary of the DUTA.

Besides, Professor Dr Sabita Rezwana Chowdhury was elected as vice-president, Professor Dr Md Akram Hossain as treasurer, and Professor Dr Md Abdur Rahim as joint secretary.

Besides, Professor Dr Zia Rahman, professor Dr Sadeka Halim, Professor Dr AZM Shafiqul Alam Bhuiyan, Professor Dr Ishtiaque Moin Syed, Professor Dr Saiful Islam, Professor Dr Amzad Ali, Professor Dr Chandranath Poddar, Professor Dr Abu Shara Shamsur Rouf, Professor Dr Muhammad Abdul Moyeen and Professor Dr Nisar Hossain were elected as members.

The DUTA election was scheduled to be held on December 30 next. But, the 'Blue Panel' was elected uncontested as there have been no contestants for the 15 posts of DUTA. However, results of the DUTA election will be announced formally at 4:00pm on Monday.
