Awami League prospects win Dhaka-5, Naogaon-6 by-polls
Awami League nominated individuals have won unofficially in the by-elections of two vacant seats of Jatiya Sangsad.

Voting occurred at Dhaka-5 and Naogaon-6 constituencies from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm without any break on Saturday. Following the counting of votes, Kazi Monirul Islam was declared elected in Dhaka-5 while Anwar Hossain Helal in Naogaon-6 constituencies.

However, one of the two BNP applicants announced boycotting the by-polls prior to the ending of vote casting, while the other rejected the results following the evening. The presence of the voters in the by-elections was comparatively less. No untoward incident has happened anywhere. The voting was taken place through electronic voting machines (EVMs). The occurrence of voters in Naogaon-6 constituency was 35 %, while nearly 10 % in Dhaka, said the Election Commission officials.
