Armanitola fire: Ashiquzzaman dies, wife on life support
Another victim of Armanitola chemical warehouse fire has died, bringing the death toll to six.
Ashiquzzaman Khan, 32, succumbed to his injuries at about 11pm on Wednesday while underwent treatment at Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and COSMETIC SURGERY, Dr Partha Shankar Pal confirmed.
He said Ashiquzzaman on life support at the intensive care unit of a healthcare facility. His newly-married wife Israt Jahan Muna, 28, whose respiratory tracks have also been damaged by the fire, can be on life support.
The couple got married only one-and-a-half-month ago. Ashiquzzaman found his in-laws house at Armanitola at the night of April 23.
On April 23, a fire broke out at the bottom floor of a six-storey 'Haji Musa Mansion' near Babu Bazar Bridge in city's old part around 3:18am on Friday that left five dead till April 26.
