All shops in 12 cities, district towns to be closed early; pharmacies out of purview
All shops and business establishments including eateries in 12 cities and district towns will close early each night to limit the spread of coronavirus.
Local administration or police of at least 12 cities and districts issued separate directives in this regard yesterday which will enter into effect from today.
Only medicine shops will be from the purview of the directives.
The cities and districts are: Chattogram, Sylhet, Mymensingh, Cumilla, Sunamganj, Moulvibazar, Habiganj, Kushtia, Pabna, Faridpur, Khulna and Thakurgaon, our local correspondents report.
According to most directives, shops and business establishments must near by 5:00 pm. Closing time in Chattogram is 7:00 pm, while in Thakurgaon at 7:30 pm and Sunamganj at 5:30 pm.
In Chattogram city, owners of shops and food markets were instructed to stay closed for 11 hours out of every evening, Chattogram Metropolitan Police Commissioner Md Mahbubor Rahman said within an order last night.
