First coronavirus patient detected in Chattogram
A coronavirus infected patient has been detected within the port city of Chittagong for the primary time.

The patient who was in isolation at Chittagong General Hospital found corona positive on Friday after samples from his body were tested. The infected person may be a 67-year old male. he's an inhabitant of Dampara within the port city.

Confirming the matter, Chittagong civil surgeon Dr Sheikh Fazle Rabbi said an individual who was in isolation at General Hospital tested positive.

Dr AMM Minhazur Rahman, divisional coordinator of Coronavirus Cell of Swadhinata Chikitshak Parishad, said, "A 67-year old man from the city's Dampara area was kept at General Hospital's isolation after developed the coronavirus symptoms on Thursday. Specimen of blood was collected from his body. it had been sent to the BITID and he was tested coronavirus positive. We try to understand the small print about the infected person."

He further said samples of blood of 31 suspected coronavirus carriers were tested at the BITID on Friday and one among them tested positive.

Earlier, samples of blood of 56 suspected persons were tested at the BITID. Blood samples of a complete of 87 suspected coronavirus carriers are tested at the BITID.

According to the Prime Minister's directives, the blood samples of 30 suspected coronavirus infected persons from 15 upazilas of Chittagong were sent to the BITID at Fouzdarhat for tests.
