Amitabh Reza Chowudhury is a prominent filmmaker in Bangladesh. In his career, he has directed nearly fifteen hundred television commercials (henceforth TVCs). Amitabh has also directed few television films to critical acclaim.

Amitabh's directorial debut in theatrical feature film is Aynabaji which was released on 30 September, 2016. Now this renowned filmmaker is bringing his first ever web-series. Titled 'Dhaka Metro Ga 9106', the web-series will be a satire to the contemporary Dhaka which is undergoing different problems.

The web-series will have nine-episodes, each with a running time of 15-20 minutes. The shooting and the post production has been completed already, informed the director.

The series will soon be released on an online platform in the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha. However, the director did not reveal the name of the online platform and launching date. Both of them will be announced soon, said he.

The storyline is based on the journeys of three people. One of them is Jaigoon, sometimes Jaba, played by Aupee Karim. Nivel will be seen as Abdul Kuddus and Shariful Islam as Rahman in the series.

"I like the freedom of experimenting and I was able to do that in TV series. That's why I decided to make the web series. In this web-series, I even used magic realism technique to express the agony and suffering of Dhaka city dwellers through the eye of the protagonist," said Amitabh.

The director said he chose to make the web series to enjoy more artistic freedom than he enjoys while making TV series. The web-series was filmed at different locations in Dinajpur, Gaibandha and Bogra.

Nafis Amin has written the script of the series based on Aditya Kabir's story. Aupi Karim, Nivel, Shariful Isam, Monwar Hossain, Shashi and others perform in different characters of the series.
