A huge selection of shanties gutted found in fire at Tongi
A huge selection of shanties were gutted found in a devastating fire at a slum in Tongi area of Gazipur early Saturday.
Media report said the fire broke out around 3.00am at a churi factory found in Milgate area and soon engulfed the adjacent slum, burning down a huge selection of shanties.
Senior station officer of Tongi Fire Service Iqbal Hossain confirmed the problem on Saturday morning.
Being informed, eight fire fighting units rushed to the location and brought the fire under control, he added.
