6 killed in Gaibandha bus-tractor collision
At least six persons were killed as a bus collided with a shallow engine-propelled tractor on Gaibandha-Palashbari Road in Palashbari upazila early Saturday (September 31).
At least 10 others were injured.
Police and local sources said a Dhaka-bound bus engaged in a head-on collision with the tractor in Mahdipur area around 12am.
The bus plunged into a ditch as the driver lost control, leaving four dead on the spot and 11 others injured.
Police and firefighters rushed to the scene and rescued them.
Of the injured, two succumbed to injuries while was being taken to hospital. The others injured were undergoing treatment.
Palashbari Police Sttaion Officer-in-Charge (OC) confirmed the matter to Banglanews.
The firefighters were trying to recover the bus from the ditch, he added.
