16 pvt varsity students get bail
Two Dhaka courts has granted bail to 16 out of 22 students of private universities in two cases filed for violence during movement for safe roads.

Judge Saifuzzaman Hero of the CMM Court and Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate AKM Mayeen Uddin Siddique granted the bail. 

Ten got bail in a case filed with Badda Police Station while six in a case filed with Bhatara Police Station. 

Of the 16, nine of the accused were identified.
 
Of them Zahidul Haque and Noor Mohammad secured bail filed with Badda police while Hasan, Khaled, Rifat, Rashedul, Mushfiqur, Redwan Ahmed and Tarikul Islam got bail in both cases with Badda and Bhatara.
 
They are the students of East West, North South, South East and BRAC universities in the capital. They are accused of attacking police and vandalising properties during protests for safe roads.

Earlier, defence lawyers Kabir Hossain, Barrister Jyotirmoy Barua, Akhter Hossain Jewel and others filed bail petition for the students.

On August 6, police detained 22 students from the campuses of their respectived universities during the student movement demanding safer road. Later, they were implicated in different cases.
