Woman, minor gal strangled found in Rajshahi; Husband held
A female and her six-month-old girl were strangulated to loss of life in Puthia Upazila of Rajshahi district early on Tuesday.
Deceased as Polly Khatun, 20, and her daughter Fariha were the residents of the Fakirpara region.
A patrol team of law enforcement detained drug addict Firoz, husband of victim Polly, from a bus in Dhaka's Gabtoli area this morning.
Hearing the cry of two-and-a-half-year-old Fahim Ali, the boy of the couple, Firoz's father and mother rushed to the area and found the bodies of Polly and Fariha.
Being informed, law enforcement recovered the bodies.
Local sources reported Firoz and Polly got wedded four years back. He often sold home things to buy drugs which led to an altercation between the couple. Firoz likewise tortured Polly for the money.
As a sequel, he killed his wife and daughter at an early hour.
Puthia Police Station OC Khaled Hossain said the bodies were delivered to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital morgue. A pillow was as well recovered beside the bodies.
