Train derails in Sirajganj
Two bogies of a cargo train derailed at Bangabandhu Bridge West Railway Station in Sirajganj district on Tuesday morning.

The derailment took place around 8:00 am that halted the railway communication of Dhaka with the country's northern part.

Abdur Rahim, divisional engineer of the Pakshey Railway Division of Railway west region, confirmed the matter.

He said two bogies of the train derailed although it was heading towards Bangabandhu Bridge West side.

The accident blocked three lanes, like the loop type of the station, suspending railway connection of North Bengal with the Southern part.

Relief trains are being brought from Ishwardi to rescue the derailed cargoes. Rescue work will get started once the relief train arrives, the railway official added.
