Tarique, Fakhrul sued
A case was filed with a court in Dhaka on Tuesday against acting BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman, Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and 10 others for reportedly issuing a death threat to members of the Prime Minister’s family.

President of Jananetri Parishad AB Siddique filed the case with the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Masud Ur Rahman, UNB reports.

The court ordered law enforcers to investigate the allegation and submit a report in this regard.

AB Siddique alleged that some BNP activists near Shah Ali Mazar in the city’s Mirpur area on December 6 asked him to withdraw the cases filed against Khaleda Zia and other BNP leaders and activists.

“If I don’t meet the demand, members of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s family as well as my one will be killed with the help of IS,” he claimed.

The other accused include BNP standing committee member Dr Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain, senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, chairperson's adviser Shamsuzzaman Dudu and Dhaka North city unit vice chairman Rabiul Awal Sohel.
