Sheikh Mujib remembered thru songs
Cultural organization 'Amra Surjamukhi' recalled country's founding president Sheikh Mujibur Rahman by organizing a program featuring patriotic songs and discussion at Sufia Kamal Auditorium of Bangladesh National Museum on Saturday.
Bangladesh Awami League advisory council member Amir Hossain Amu was present as the chief guest at the event. Former vice chancellor of Dhaka University AAMS Arefin Siddique and former state minister of foreign affairs Abul Hasan Chowdhury, among others, were also present at the program titled 'Manab Kollanei Jatir Mukti: Tai Chhilo Bangabandhur Rajnitir Shangskriti'
Amra Surjamukhi executive director Shafikul Islam Selim presided over the program. The speakers spoke on the life and works of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Arif Rahman and Suraiya Parvin Lira rendered patriotic songs to the delight of the audience.
They rendered songs like 'Shuno ekti Mujiber kantho theke', 'Purba digonte surja utheche', 'Nungar tulo tulo', 'Karar oi luoha kopat', 'Tir hara ei dhewer majhe', 'Banglar Hindu Banglar Musalman' and others.
