Hearing on Minni's bail petition deferred
The hearing on the bail petition for Ayesha Siddika Minni in a case filed over the murder of her husband Rifat Sharif has been deferred till August 8.
The High Court bench of Justice Md Zakir Hossain and Justice M Mostafizur Rahman set the date on Tuesday.
Lawyer ZI Khan Panna stood for Minni while deputy attorney general Rezaul Karim represented the state in the court.
Earlier on Monday, ZI Khan filed the bail petition for Minni the key witness of the murder.
On July 16, police arrested Minni and the court placed her on a five-day remand the next day.
She gave a confessional statement before a court on July 19, before completion of the 5-day remand.
On June 26, Rifat Sharif, 22, was hacked to death by criminals in front of his wife Minni in broad daylight in the district town. The incident was caught on surveillance camera.
