Sheikh Hasina becomes leader of Jatiya Sangsad
The daughter of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and Awami League President Sheikh Hasina has become leader of the Jatiya Sangsad for the third time in a row.

Sheikh Hasina was unanimously reelected the leader of national parliament in an AL Parliamentary Party meeting on Thursday (January 3).

Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Qauder proposed the name of AL President Sheikh Hasina as the leader of Jatiya Sangsad.

AL presidium member Amir Hossen Amu supported the proposal.

Later, AL MPs unanimously elected Sheikh Hasina as the leader of parliament as well as the president of AL parliamentary party.

Following the meeting, Mohammad Shafiqur Rahman, AL MP and president of Jatiya Press Club, confirmed the matter to Banglanews.

Earlier in the day, the newly elected members of parliament (MPs) along with Awami League President Sheikh Hasina took oath at the Oath room in East block of Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban after 11am.
