Shahidul Alam admitted to BSMMU
Eminent photographer Shahidul Alam, who was arrested in an ICT case, has been admitted to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) hospital as per the direction of High Court.

He was taken to the hospital around 8:45am Wednesday (August 8).

He is undergoing treatment at the bed no-512, BSMMU Director Gen Abdullah Al Harun told Banglanews.

A board of the physicians was formed to treat Shahidul Alam, he added.

The High Court on Tuesday (August 7) directed authorities concerned to send Shahidul Alam, who was placed on a 7-day remand a day ago, to hospital as soon as possible.

The court also asked the BSMMU authorities to form a medical board for examining the health condition of Shahidul and submit a medical report before it by 10:30am on Thursday (August 9).

Shahidul was picked up from his Dhanmondi residence on Sunday night (August 5).

Police filed the case against him for spreading propaganda and false information on Facebook and electronic media against the government.

Shahidul’s wife Rehnuma said her husband gave an interview to international media about on-going students’ movement. Besides, he came live on Facebook about the issue several times.
