HC asks shifting Shahidul Alam to hospital
The High Court on Tuesday ordered the authorities concerned to shift arrested photographer and Drik Gallery Managing Director Shahidul Alam to hospital from the custody of detective branch (DB).
The court also directed the authorities of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) to submit a report by 10:30am on Thursday on the physical condition of Shahidul Alam .
Earlier on Sunday night, detectives detained Shahidul Alam, managing director of Drik Gallery, from his Dhanmondi residence on charge of spreading provocative information among protesting students through Facebook.
A HC of bench of Justice Syed Mohammad Dastagir Hossain and Justice Md Iqbal Kabir passed the order after Shahidul's wife Rehnuma Ahmed filed a writ petition challenging remand order and pleading to send him to hospital.
