Renowned photographer Shahidul Alam picked up
Members of Detective Branch (DB) of polices picked up MD Shahidul Alam, renowned photographer and Managing Director of Drik Gallery, from his Dhanmondi residence in the capital Dhaka on Sunday night.
Additional Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DB) Abdul Baten said a team of DB detained Shahidul, Chairman of Pathshala South Asian Media Institute, from his house for interrogation over his Facebook posts on the ongoing student protests.
Meanwhile, Head of Photography Department of Pathshala South Asian Media Institute Tanvir Murad Topu said a group of plainclothes men identifying them as law enforcers picked the renowned photographer up around 10:30pm, reports UNB.
