'Scarface' remake will come to be shocking and R-rated
Universal Pics has been looking to get a fresh Scarface remake away the bottom for years, but it now appears as though the studio is willing to go a fascinating route instead of an expected one.

Luca Guadagnino, the Oscar-nominated filmmaker behind lush films like Call Me By Your Name and A good Bigger Splash, is helming the latest remake of Scarface, is determined to generate a hard R-rated video which will shock audiences.

Speaking to Collider, Guadagnino has revealed that he's intent on making the remake while shocking as DePalma's 1982 release was upon release. Calling the type of Tony Montana an "archetype," Guadagnino says that evil personas like him certainly are a "symptom" of the immigrant's have to achieve the American Wish.

The director adds that his film will be a hard R-rated video and that the script, which he calls great, is one that will lead to a film that is "shocking." The Italian director seems to like courting controversy along with his videos and certainly seems suitable for directing Scarface.
