Saikat placed on 4-day remand
Abdur Rahman Saikat, arrested in connection with the death of Stamford University student Rubaiyat Sharmin Rumpa, has been placed on a four-day remand.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mamunur Rashid granted the remand on Sunday.
Earlier, police produced Saikat before the court with a seven-day remand prayer.
On Saturday, detectives detained Saikat and shown him arrested in a case filed with Ramna Police Station over the death of Rumpa.
According to a police source, 22-year-old Saikat, a former student of Stamford University, admitted his affair with Rumpa who was found dead in an alley of a building in Siddheshwari area.
