Razakars’ revised list before Independence Day
Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque on Wednesday (Dec 18) said the revised list of Razakars would be released before March 26, the Independence Day of Bangladesh.
The minister told Banglanews that the Razakars’ list was withheld as allegations were raised against it. The fresh list will be released after scrutiny before the 26th March, the Impendence Day of the country.
Earlier in the evening, the ministry withheld the flawed list of Razakars.
SM Arifur Rahman, secretary to the ministry, confirmed the matter to Banglanews saying that confusion created among the people including freedom fighters over the recently released list of Razakars. It is embarrassing. So the list has been withheld. The revised list would be published later after scrutiny.
The official list of Razakars, which was published on Sunday (Dec 16), has drawn huge criticism here as the name of a Language Movement veteran and war-wounded freedom fighter among others is on it.
