Law enforcers able to face any kind of challenge: Home Minister
Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan today said law enforcement agencies are capable to control all sort of crimes including militancy and cross border crimes.
“Our law enforcement personnel are very much competent now. We are capable to face any kind of challenge, as we have achieved efficiency by exchanging intelligence information with other countries,” he said this, while witnessing ‘Annual Performance Agreement (APA)’ for 2019-20 financial year as the chief guest at the Secretariat.
Public Security Division Secretary Mostafa Kamal Uddin and heads of the six subordinate organizations signed the APAs for 2019-2020 financial year. The Home Ministry signed the APA for 2019-20 with six organisations under its purview to inspire them to deliver “result oriented” activities as part of the government’s target to materialize the vision 2021.
The minister said that the government is committed to materialize Vision 2021 along with ensuring good governance in the country, adding, “With the signing of the APA, all organizations under the division will be effective, transparent and ensure proper use of resources.”
He said the government introduced the APA signing in 2014-15 financial year aimed at attaining the goal for their annual programmes. Asaduzzaman hoped the APAs will ensure the organizations’ accountability and bring dynamism in their working plan while implementing.
The organizations are Bangladesh Police, Border Guard Bangladesh, Coast Guard Bangladesh, Bangladesh Ansar and VDP, International Crimes Tribunal Investigation Agency and National Telecommunication Monitoring Centre (NTMC).
